The Handy Horseman is an online rental service which provides competition apparel on a 1-4 week basis. This service is great for any horseman in need of a hunt coat, shadbelly or other show apparel for an upcoming event. Are you a parent trying to keep up with a growing kiddo, but hate to spend the money on something they'll just outgrow next year? Or are you an avid competitor who enjoys the latest trends in the equestrian world, but isn't fond of the financial commitment? Renting from The Handy Horseman is the perfect option for you!

Reserve Your Item

After finding your dream garment, check availability for the dates you require. Please choose a delivery date at least 2-3 days before your competition, that way you have enough time to try the jacket on and ensure a satisfactory fit.

Shipping

Shipping is included in the listing price of each jacket.

Shipping is a flat fee of $16.00-this covers shipping to you, then back to us.

We currently use USPS Priority Mail 1-3 day shipping. USPS does not deliver on Sundays, so please take this into consideration before booking.

*We will expedite shipping on a case by case basis- you, the renter, are responsible for this shipping fee.

Wear/Cleaning

Once your cleaned and ready to wear item arrives, we recommend hanging it in a garment bag to avoid excessive wrinkling. Please do not wash or dry clean the item, as it could be damaged and you will be responsible for damages

Wear your item and rock it at your next competition! Don't worry about dirt or grim, we appropriately wash and steam each item before it's sent out to it's next rider!

Return

Once your rental period is complete, you have 24 hours after your "return date" to ship the items back. This means that if your return date is on a Sunday, you have until end-of-day Monday to drop your package off at the nearest USPS drop off location*. For everyday after that return window, you will incur a late fee of $20/day.

To return your rental, place your items in the *reusable mailer* it was delivered in and place the included return shipping label in the outside label slot. Please note that you are responsible for any lost items. These include jacket, reusable mailer, garment bag, etc. Please contact us immediately at [email protected] so that we can assist you if items are lost.
